Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way back to Manchester United after reportedly prioritising a shock comeback while doubts grow over his future at Juventus.

Ronaldo currently earns almost £500,000-a-week ($920,000) in Italy and would be taking a pay cut to switch to Old Trafford.

Massimiliano Allegri is the new man in charge at Juve and he is reportedly not again the prospect of letting Ronaldo leave in the summer transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain is another potential landing spot for Ronaldo although the club’s desire to tie down Kylian Mbappe means United remains in the mix.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juve are looking to offload Ronaldo in exchange for Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is reportedly set to meet with United negotiators on Zoom this week to discuss his future.

A report from the Daily Star claims Raiola is after £500,000-a-week ($920,000) for Pogba – a hefty increase on the £290,000-a-week ($534,000) deal he is currently on.

The 28-year old midfielder is entering the final year of his contract.

A swap deal would allow the Red Devils, who are looking for another winger, to sign up a club legend while Pogba could also return to his former team and look to rediscover his best form in a familiar environment.

CITY, SPURS IN TOUTED KANE SWAP DEAL

Manchester United have also been linked to Tottenham’s Harry Kane, although reports suggest Spurs could be tempted by Manchester City instead if they offer up Gabriel Jesus.

City are a leading contender for Kane’s signature following the departure of key striker Sergio Aguero.

Erling Haaland is tipped to be the top target but a report from the Daily Star claims Tottenham “can be tempted” into sending Kane to City by an offer of Jesus plus a similar amount in cash.

Kane is expected not to make a call on his future until Tottenham appoints a new manager.

He though has maintained any move will be motivated by a desire to win trophies, which has put City right at the front of the pack.

Tottenham obviously do not want to sell their prized man but with United, City and Chelsea all reaching out to Kane’s representatives, it is quickly becoming a reality they have to accept.

Kane is valued at over £120m ($A220m) and has a contract until 2024.

TUCHEL SET FOR NEW DEAL AFTER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TRIUMPH

While Manchester City had been building towards what they thought was their moment in the Champions League for five years under Pep Guardiola, Chelsea showed with their victory in Saturday’s final in Porto what can be achieved in just four months.

That is how long has elapsed since Thomas Tuchel became coach, replacing Frank Lampard with Chelsea ninth in the Premier League.

Tuchel is set to reap the rewards with a handsome new contract, although whether he will be allowed to put down roots in west London remains to be seen given how managerial cycles tend to go at Stamford Bridge.

Once again a mid-season managerial sacking has worked out perfectly for Chelsea, whose 2012 Champions League triumph came following the decision to sack Andre Villas-Boas and appoint Roberto Di Matteo.

This time Chelsea have struck gold with Tuchel, but the 47-year-old would not have been able to deliver such success without the huge investment in players that came before his arrival, as well as some of the outstanding young talents who were already thriving under Lampard.

“I am not even 100 percent sure, but maybe I already have a new contract now with that win. My manager said something about that but I didn’t know so let’s check this first,” he told reporters with a smile.
