Moto2 rider Aron Canet showed quick thinking to escape a possible accident after narrowly avoiding being run over during a race in Portugal.
The Spanish rider fell from his bike during a qualifying session for the Portuguese Grand Prix.
He was left on the track with bikes coming over the hill behind him in what could have been a tragic situation.

He quickly noticed he was in danger though and escaped collision after crawling to the side of the track as several bikes went straight past him.
Canet was able to recover and qualify for the race.
He finished in 15th place earning a championship point.
Many social media users were terrified by the close call but lauded Canet’s quick thinking and reflexes to get himself to safety.

Australia’s Remy Gardner claimed pole position in the race and was ecstatic afterwards.
“I am so f**ing happy,” he said.
“I honestly have no words. My first win, a bit emotional you know on the cool down lap.
“We have been strong here all weekend and I thought I could win and I came in thinking with that mentality lets try and win it, its our last race and I’ve got nothing to lose and we did it. We worked so hard as a team.
“All the weak points we straightened out over the weekend and even in the race I was still adapting to my style and learning from Luca. In those last couple of laps I saw that I had the pace and I stayed behind Luca and on the last two laps I passed him, I pulled the pin and pulled out a gap and I am just lost for words honestly.”
