NASCAR crash, video, watch, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott

Published

Kyle Busch is NASCAR’s reigning Cup champion and the resident villain of the series. Chase Elliott has been voted most popular driver the last two years and is quickly building a loyal and rabid fan base. Their on-track tussle at Darlington Raceway this week very well might be the start of a new rivalry NASCAR needs.

Busch admittedly misjudged a gap and unintentionally wrecked Elliott in what turned out to be the final green-flag lap of Wednesday night’s race. Elliott crashed, climbed out of his car, waved off medical personnel and waited on the apron for Busch to circle the track under caution.

As Busch passed, Elliott gave him a long, middle-finger salute.

F1 2020: Daniel Ricciardo spoke to Ferrari before McLaren contract, Carlos Sainz

Published

Ferrari held talks with Daniel Ricciardo over replacing Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari before giving the dream drive to Carlos Sainz Jnr instead, the Australian has revealed.

Ricciardo has long been linked with Ferrari where many argue he would be a good fit given his racing talent and his family’s Italian heritage.

He first held talks with Ferrari in 2018 when he was coming off-contract at Red Bull — he signed with Renault instead — and contact between the two parties didn’t stop until now.

F1 news 2020, spending cap, how much, when, Daniel Ricciardo, new rules, next race

Published

F1’s big and wide-ranging package of cost-cutting measures – headlined by a tighter budget cap – have been approved to make the sport more sustainable and competitive into the future.

Rubber stamped by the World Motor Sport council on Wednesday, F1 will introduce a $145m budget cap from next season and – for the first time – an aero development handicap system for the more successful teams.

“Formula 1 wins today,” said McLaren’s Zak Brown. “This is a crucially important moment for our sport.

“F1 has been financially unsustainable for some time, and inaction would have risked the future of F1 and its participants, who are to be commended for resolving this issue collectively and determinedly.”
