Adelaide United could hand a debut to the A-League’s third-youngest ever player on Saturday evening when they face Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
Mohamed Toure – brother of Adelaide’s breakout striker Al Hassan Toure – will be 15 years and 320 days old come kick-off, and has been named on the bench for the crucial clash.
If he features, he’ll become the third-youngest A-League debutant, behind Adelaide’s Teeboy Kamara (15 years, 212 days) in 2011 and Melbourne City’s Idrus Abdulahi (15 years, 216 days) in April 2019.

The age of Alusine Fofanah, who debuted at a reported age of 15 years, 189 days in 2014 for the Wanderers (which would make him the youngest ever), is contested.
With Al Hassan injured with a foot problem and George Blackwood struggling with a calf issue, Adelaide coach Gertjan Verbeek hinted Mohamed Toure could feature.
“He’s making a good impression in training and the friendly games,” the Dutchman said.
“He scored on Wednesday (against two times and we have with George and his brother Al Hassan Toure, a problem, so I need attackers and he’s the next one in line.”
A week after signing for Adelaide following his release from the Roar, Stefan Mauk has been included in the squad to face his former side. The midfielder’s addition is a bonus with Nathan Konstandopoulos facing a lengthy stint on the sidelines after rupturing his right anterior cruciate ligament in training.
Last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Sydney FC has left the Roar in seventh on the ladder, two points behind sixth-placed Western United having played a game less.
Adelaide are fourth after their 3-1 win over Melbourne City last weekend and Saturday’s match represents a big chance for Fowler’s Roar to close the gap on the Reds.
This A-League clash kicks off at 7.30pm AEDT, with LIVE coverage on Fox Sports 505 from 7.00pm.
