Jack Grealish and James Maddison have both been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
So, why doesn’t the club just buy them both?
That’s the mindset of head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as looks to continue the reconstruction of his squad’s attacking options.
That and more in another edition of Rumour Mill!
UNITED PLOTTING DOUBLE SWOOP FOR ENGLISH YOUNG GUNS
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning a £160million (A$309m) swoop to snap up Jack Grealish AND James Maddison this summer.
And Manchester United’s boss hopes the fact the pair are close pals could tip the mega double-raid in his favour.
Aston Villa skipper Grealish, Maddison and his Leicester teammate Ben Chilwell jetted off to Dubai during the Premier League’s winter break.
Solskjaer is preparing for life without Old Trafford’s £89m ($172m) record buy Paul Pogba after United cut their asking price by £30m ($58m) to £150m ($289m).
Whatever they get for the French midfield star will be handed to Solskjaer to add to his transfer pot for bringing in new talent.
The Red Devils boss wants to continue the reconstruction of his squad’s attacking options and is being backed by under-fire executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward who said: “As part of the rebuild we see this summer as an important opportunity.”

POCH WOULD ‘LOVE’ PREMIER LEAGUE RETURN
Mauricio Pochettino admits he would “love” to get another job managing in the Premier League again.
The 47-year-old Argentine was axed as Tottenham boss in November — just five months after taking the club to the Champions League final.
Jose Mourinho came in as his replacement the following morning, while Pochettino remains out of a managerial post.
Now, the former Espanyol boss is still looking to get back in the dugout sooner rather than later.
He continues to be linked with taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United and would seemingly prefer to stay in England rather than move abroad again.
Reports over the weekend suggested Poch still has his eyes on the Old Trafford gig and that he has told friends he wants to resume his career in the summer.
However, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain may all be looking for a new boss come the summer and would surely be in touch with Pochettino to try and lure him to the continent.
BLIUES TO RELAUNCH ZIYECH BID
Frank Lampard is ready to relaunch his bid for £45m ($87m) Ajax star Hakim Ziyech.
Chelsea boss Lampard was left hugely frustrated when the club failed to land any of his transfer targets in January — including midfielder Ziyech.
He went public with his disappointment at not adding to his squad after Chelsea had worked hard to overturn a FIFA transfer ban.
Highly-rated Ziyech signed a new three year deal only last summer and also has Manchester United and Arsenal tracking him.
He was also placed among UEFA’S top 20 performers in the Champions League last season as Ajax went all the way to a thrilling semi final defeat to Tottenham.
Lampard wants more creativity and more goals from his team and Ziyech was one of the top names on his list for the previous transfer window.
