PSG TARGET ALLI WITH TOTTENHAM FUTURE IN DOUBT
Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks with Dele Alli over a stunning transfer, according to reports.
The England midfielder, 24, was dragged off at half-time against Everton a week ago and has not made the last two matchday squads.
That includes not being involved at all for the win at Southampton.
And according to The Telegraph, PSG are hoping to take advantage with a plot to land the ex-MK Dons man.
The French giants are thought to be long-term admirers of Dele.
But it is unclear whether they would pursue a full permanent transfer or a loan with the option to buy – the latter is more likely.
Dele – who signed for Tottenham in 2015 and has 62 goals in 223 appearances – was offered to Real Madrid as part of the deal which saw Gareth Bale return to White Hart Lane.
Inter Milan are also showing interest in the playmaker, who looks to be out of Jose Mourinho’s immediate plans at Tottenham.
But the chance to reignite his career alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at PSG would surely appeal to the 37-cap Three Lions star.
Dele was hauled off at the break against Everton with ex-England international Gabriel Agbonlahor claiming that the pair had a bust-up prior to the match.
The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year did not even travel to Bulgaria for the Europa League qualifier against Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday.
And then he was reportedly left ‘upset and confused’ by his omission at St Mary’s.
Commenting on his decision to leave Alli out, Mourinho said: “We have a huge squad, a squad with numbers that’s very difficult to manage.
“I don’t have issues, it’s for me to be here with 18 players, I start with Son, with Lucas, with Harry, on the bench I have Sissoko and Lamela.
“We have too many players for some positions and some of them are paying the price of this.”
SPURS PLOT SHOCK $53M BID FOR MAN UTD STAR
Tottenham are plotting a shock £30million ($53 million AUD) transfer bid for Jesse Lingard, according to reports.
The Manchester United midfielder, 27, has seen his career stagnate over the past two years since Jose Mourinho left Old Trafford.
But according to the Daily Star Sunday, the Special One is hoping to reignite his career in North London.
Lingard has struggled for game time and form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has not started a Premier League match since January.
The report adds the England international was fuming at being left out of the matchday squad for the opening game of the season against Crystal Palace.
It is even suggested Lingard has tried to reach out to the club for showdown talks over his future – but has been ignored.
The playmaker who came through the United academy and has 207 first-team appearances, came back from pre-season in peak condition but it appears he is not part of Solskjaer’s plans.
Bruno Fernandes is the first-choice No10 and has been in fine form since arriving last season.
So Mourinho may hope to capitalise on Lingard’s frustration and try to get the best out of him again – especially with Dele Alli’s future unclear.
WOLVES EYE BARCA RIGHT-BACK AS DOHERTY REPLACEMENT
Wolves are reportedly closing in on the shock signing of Barcelona star Nelson Semedo to replace Matt Doherty.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been keen to bring in a right-back having sold the Irish international to Tottenham.
And after selling Diogo Jota to Liverpool for £45million ($80 million AUD), the club have the funds to spend big.
SunSport reported on Saturday how the Blaugrana are looking to bring in Ajax ace Sergino Dest with Semedo on his way out of the Nou Camp for around £40m ($71 million AUD).
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that it is Wolves that are in pole position to secure the 26-year-old’s services.
He also revealed how Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal will be joining Semedo out the door in Catalonia.
Romano tweeted: “Wolves are ‘one step away’ from signing Nelson Semedo.
“New bid submitted yesterday and Barcelona are now ready to accept.
“Work in progress also on personal terms to be agreed.
“On next hours Barca are gonna sell Semedo to #Wolves and Vidal to #Inter. Here we go soon!”
Semedo has spent the last three seasons at Barcelona having joined from Benfica in 2017.
He has been a regular in the team having played 124 times in three years – winning the LaLiga title twice and Copa del Rey once.
Wolves have also been alerted to the fact that Atletico Madrid are keen to offload winger Thomas Lemar.
