Max Verstappen has told Sky Sports F1 that he is not thinking about ‘redemption’ at the Brazilian GP as he prepares to line up on pole one year on from his cruel race-losing crash at Interlagos.

Verstappen was speaking to Sky F1’s Karun Chandhok in an enlightening SkyPad special after his qualifying masterclass as he outpaced Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton.

The in-form Red Bull driver talked through his superb Q3 lap, but was also asked if he was looking for redemption in Sunday’s race after his collision with Esteban Ocon, a backmarker, in last year’s event.

F1 2020: Fernando Alonso signs for Renault, contract, Daniel Ricciardo replacement

Fernando Alonso will return to Formula 1 in 2021 after Renault confirmed the two-time world champion as Daniel Ricciardo’s replacement.

After two seasons off the grid, the 38-year-old Alonso will rejoin Renault for a third stint at the Enstone team where he won his two titles in 2005-2006.

Alonso, one of the most successful, determined yet controversial stars of recent F1 history, will partner Esteban Ocon in 2021 with Ricciardo already signed by McLaren.

Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton is unsure if he will continue taking a knee for the rest of the season.

The Brit racing hero knelt alongside 13 other drivers prior to Sunday’s F1 return in Austria.

Hamilton, 35, also wore a t-shirt adorning the message “Black Lives Matter”, while all of his colleagues sported the message “End Racism” on their garments.

Renault and Formula 1 fans are set to receive a huge boost with Fernando Alonso expected to confirm his return to the outfit in 2021 in place of Daniel Ricciardo.

The Spaniard, who will turn 39 this month, took time away from the F1 in 2018 as he chased more achievements outside of the sport.

Since then he has won the Le Mans race with Toyota twice and is still determined to achieve the triple crown with victory at the Indy 500.
