Haaland’s United hopes
Erling Braut Haaland has reportedly told Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he wants to sign for the Red Devils.
The Red Bull Salzburg teenage striker is valued at £80 million ($A155m) and being pursued by a number of prestigious clubs across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.
According to a report in The Mirror, Haaland’s preferred destination for a January move is to Old Trafford – and he told United’s coach as much.
Haaland travelled to Dortmund and Red Bull Leipzig last week to visit their training facilities.
But the Mirror claims that Haaland has previously visited United’s own training ground at Carrington.
There were reports from European outlets ahead of the weekend that stated Solskjaer flew to Salzburg to meet with Haaland and his representatives, and is preparing a big-money bid to secure the services of the Danish talent.
But with Liepzig also owned and sponsored by Red Bull, the Bundesliga side has a unique advantage in the hunt for his signature.
Hazard promises Chelsea return
Eden Hazard has been filmed promising a Chelsea fan he will return to Stamford Bridge after his contract at Real Madrid ends.
The Belgium international left the Blues for the Bernabeu in June after seven years in London – but obviously has his eye on a return to his former club in the future.
After a dismal 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth this morning, Chelsea has now lost four of their last five Premier League matches. What they wouldn’t give to have Hazard back!
The 28-year-old told a Chelsea fan “when I finish here I’ll come back.”
And he’s keeping up with the exploits of his former teammates, apparently.
“When I can I watch. Not all the time. They are doing well, they’re young. Now they can pay for players, they can buy players now.”
The Blues are looking to make a splash in the transfer market having had their transfer ban lifted, with Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and Atletico Madrid’s defensive midfielder Saul Niguez both on their shopping list.
But if they can be patient, they might just have their former star in Eden Hazard back. “I do my job here and then I come back,” he said.
Hazard’s contract at Madrid ends in 2024, so the Blues will have some time to wait.
City ready blockbuster bid for Sancho
The Sun claims Manchester City is ready to spend £90 million ($A174m) to re-sign former City gun Jadon Sancho.
With Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all keen on his signature, City will look to do a deal immediately in January.
Sancho left City for Dortmund for just £8m ($A15.5m) in July 2017, but has turned into a world-class winger after just two-and-a-half seasons in Germany.
Still just 19, Sancho has banged home 20 goals in 44 matches for Dortmund.
Dortmund is widely expected to be interested in letting Sancho leave, pocketing a huge profit on the England youngster – and funding a bid for Erling Haaland.
City winger Leroy Sane has spent the season on the sidelines after an ACL tear, which halted a move to Bayern Munich ahead of the current campaign. But Sancho’s arrival would almost certainly spell an end to Sane’s time in Manchester.
