Published

on

Valentino Rossi’s former long-time crew chief Jeremy Burgess believes the nine-time world champion has “perhaps hung around a little bit too long” in MotoGP.

Ahead of this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island — which will be his 400th Grand Prix start — Rossi is a distant seventh in the standings, with Petronas Yamaha SRT rookie Fabio Quartararo now 18 points ahead in sixth.

Rossi claimed podiums in two of the first three races this season, but has since failed to finish better than fourth in the following 13 races.

Rally Australia cancelled, WRC 2019, NSW fires, donations, NSW bushfires today

Published

on

The ongoing bushfire crisis in New South Wales has seen a strong response by World Rally Championship stars and teams after the season finale was cancelled.

Rally Australia, the final event of the 2019 championship, was cancelled in the wake of the devastating fires which continue to ravage parts of the state.

Particularly affected is the local Coffs Harbour community, which was host to the service park of the event. Instead, Thursday – which was scheduled for the rally’s shakedown – has seen the service park dismantled and packed away as teams prepared to head back to Europe after the non-event.

F1 announced its new rules for 2021 late last month ahead of the Nov. 3 United States GP, in which Hamilton secured his sixth title to move one behind Michael Schumacher’s all-time F1 record.
